CCHS Karate Demonstration 2012 - A huge success!

Osu!

After all of the hard work, sweat, and desire...the CCHS Karate Club put on one of the most exciting demonstrations that I have been a part of to date. The club was formed in 2008 and has been growing and producing extremely dedicated karate students ever since. The club had a chance yesterday (March 9, 2012) to show off a little bit of our talent and I believe that the CCHS community has a very good idea of how focused and impressive these karate students can be. We, as a group, worked tirelessly to come up with a quick, but meaningful demonstration of Kyokushin Karate...please view the following link to our demo:

I am extremely proud of all of my CCHS Karate Club students past and present and am so thankful to Hanshi Larry Giordano and to Central Catholic for giving me the tools to produce such a wonderful club. I have been involved in karate for about 25 years now and the CCHS Karate Club has been a blessing! I know that the future will bring more good things and many more humble, respectful, and dedicated students!

CCHS Karate - Demo Preparation & A daughter following in her father's footsteps

Osu!

2012 has started off with a bang! Currently there are over 35 CCHS students actively participating in karate classes on a weekly basis. With an upcoming demonstration to be presented to 1300 people and a new sports season quickly arriving, I hope to welcome many new karate-ka to our club. The demo will take place on March 9th and will include a dozen or so of our most dedicated students. It will include forms, board breaking, and feats of strength! A special thanks goes to Sifu Mike Dayton and Hanshi Larry Giordano for their incredible knowledge of creating spectacular demonstrations.

On a separate note, I have recently recruited a photography student to help with taking pictures and videos of our club in action. These photos and videos will help when it comes to press releases, yearbook pictures, and learning tools. I think it will be great for students to see themselves in action...the best critic is most times yourself. Here's my first video upload...My daughter has started coming to karate classes and tested her knowledge and technique in tameshiwari (with a little help from Dad).

More information, pictures, and videos will follow!
